THE CHARITY SECTOR
FOR MOST OF MY WORKING LIFE, I HAVE CONTRIBUTED TIME AND EXPERTISE TO CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS. MY PRO-BONO WORK IS IMPORTANT TO ME, ENABLING ME TO SUPPORT SOME BRILLIANT ORGANISATIONS AND MEET THOSE WHOSE LIVES ARE CHANGED A LITTLE BY THE EFFORTS OF ALL THOSE THAT DO THE SAME.
MY WORK
I have been volunteering for a long time, with many different organisations. Pro bono work has always been important to me. I have been a trustee, governor, board member and volunteer.
This is a snapshot of a few these.
British Ukrainian Aid: I raised over 1 million pounds in the first three months of the conflict to send direct aid to those caught up in the war through established supply routes via Poland. I helped the organisation establish a fundraising campaign using crowdfunding and direct donations. I increased social reach and managed communications to share this cause more widely.
A Devon Community Group. I fund-raised around £45,000 to refurbish a neglected but much loved village hall. The fundraising focused on crowd funding, grant funding and endowments.
Child Assault Prevention (CAP) I was a trustee at CAP for a number of years, helping with their reach, their recruitment and their fundraising. I was part of the team to secure on-going lottery funding of £130,000
Politics I have worked with a number of politicians where I have raised funds with crowdfunding and donor relations and social giving.
